2024.1.15 weekly
Lots of ball this week for Bekah.
She's playing every second of every game and doing great, especially in defense.

We had a major storm blow through here, along with all of the East coast.
Ironically, after the storm was mostly over, our power went out for about 18 hours.
Stick spent many hours trying to get our generator to work properly.
When big storms come through, our creek fills up with muddy water. This was the highest we've ever seen it.
But then a short time later, the water got so high it breached the lane.
This is at the bottom of our hill and doesn't directly affect us. Our neighbor is in trouble though. Some of the lane has washed away and is going to have to be fixed.

The kids got me this for Christmas. It's LEGOs!
I totally love it. A splash of pretty bright color in the dead of winter.

Spotted this picture on my friend's FB.
The boys and some of their ward friends all home for the holidays.

Finally, this week I had to go to an orthopedic surgeon because I hurt my knee when we were in Florida.
Forgetting that I am in fact, 52 and not 22, I had a moment of temporary insanity and thought I could play beach volleyball with the kids. One wrong move involving a twist and a fall and a very loud pop coming from my knee and I knew I was in trouble. I spent a few days barely able to walk.
It's been almost 3 weeks and I can walk now and it feels quite a bit better, but there is still definitely a problem. The doctor suspects that it's a meniscal tear. For now, are taking the wait and see if it continues to get better approach, but if time doesn't heal the last bit, we will do an MRI and go from there.

Bekah and I got volunteered to give talks in the West Charlotte Branch yesterday. That's two talks for me in one month, so I am declaring myself done for 2024, thank you very much.
